Hello, I’m John Schafer, the owner of Schafer Project Services. Thank you for visiting my company’s website.

I help property managers, owners, and real estate professionals create modern, clear, accurate, digital floor plans that are easy to use in listings, leasing, and long-term planning.

My Background

I’m a fifth-generation Milwaukeean with a lifelong respect for this city’s neighborhoods and historic architecture.

I have two degrees from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee; a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Freshwater Science and Technology.

I have 25+ years CAD drafting experience and 10+ years project management experience. I have spent my career working with complex systems, technical drawings, and research.

That mix of engineering discipline and local pride is what I bring into every project: careful measurement, clean drawings, and respect for the history of each building.

Every project follows a clear, simple workflow:

1. Discovery meeting – We talk through your building, your goals, and what exists already (blueprints, old plans, etc.).

2. Records & plans – I review any existing drawings or city records to understand the original layout.

3. On-site measurement & LiDAR scan – I visit the property, measure units, and capture details using modern tools.

4. CAD drafting – I convert everything into accurate digital floor plans with clean line work and consistent standards.

5. Secure cloud storage - The floor plans are uploaded to a secure, password-protected cloud storage server for your team to view and download.

6. Final delivery – You receive your plans as PDFs (and image files as needed) ready for marketing, signage, or long-term maintenance planning.
